The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked Nuffic to organise an international conference aimed at generating specific ideas for the design of new capacity building programmes. The two-day conference, entitled "Shaping the future: new perspectives on Dutch cooperation in post-secondary education and training for sustainable development," will bring together experts, practitioners and stakeholders from the Netherlands and partner countries, as well as representatives of international agencies.

The first day is open to a number of invited participants and a wider audience of registered participants. It focuses on the outcomes of the external evaluations of the NFP, NPT and NICHE programmes in relation to the new Dutch development cooperation policy framework and priorities. Ben Knapen, the Dutch Minister for European Affairs and International Cooperation, will comment on the outcomes of the evaluations.

The second day of the conference is reserved for a smaller group of participants who will discuss what the outlines of new programmes may look like, in view of the external evaluations, lessons learned, international policy trends and Dutch policy directives.

Individuals interested in attending Day 1 of the conference (2 July) are invited to register online at: http://www.nuffic.nl/shapingthefuture
