This text explores the uses of participatory monitoring and evaluation (PM&E) which involves the assessment of change through processes that involve many people or groups, each of whom is affecting or affected by the impacts being assessed. Here you find guidelines for socio-economic methodologies for natural resources research. This document aims to improve the design, delivery and impact of renewable natural resources research projects. The priority is to make research more relevant to the needs of the intended beneficiaries, better targeted towards developmental rather than scientific objectives and leading to better uptake and impact of research outputs.
