Renewing approaches to institutional development: Concepts, guides and perspectives

Capacity.org 20, ECDPM, 2004. This article argues that institutional development should be fully integrated with all aspects of development cooperation. In doing so, it is important to recognise that institutional development requires a comprehensive and coherent intervention strategy, profound reforms in the corporate culture of donor agencies, and an implementation process that can rely on high-level political support and on the participation of all key stakeholders.
