This toolkit was prepared by UNDP in response to the increasing demand from developing country governments for more active engagement of the indigenous private sector in order to improve the access of the poor to basic services and to alleviate poverty through more vigorous enterprise and employment creation. The toolkit aims to translate the evolving domestic private sector development strategy into focused activities and interventions that build upon capacity development, enabling environment and good governance. It is conceived as an interactive environment that allows users to access resources and focus on key areas.
