There is an increasing demand from developing country governments for more active engagement of indigenous private sector to improve access to basic services by the poor and alleviate poverty through more vigorous enterprise and employment creation. UNDP is therefore developing a PSD toolkit that will translate the evolving domestic private sector development strategy in to focused activities and interventions (that build upon capacity development, enabling environment and good governance) for use by UNDP’s country offices to assist the respective national governments in indigenous private sector development.
