Our Approach to Research and Documentation for the Leadership for a Changing World Programme
This paper describes the foundations for the research and documentation component of the Leadership for a Changing World programme, a rewards programme to recognise and better understand social change leadership in American communities. The authors suggest taking, and subsequently, describe the constructionist approach to leadership.
This approach to leadership looks at it both as a social construct and as a process. It helps to explore the ways people understand and attribute leadership and also to distinguish between the emergence of leadership as a collective process and the practices that leaders engage in.
