In today's increasingly complex world, individuals, organisations and even society's are constantly challenged to adapt to changes in their internal and external environments. The ability to deal with such changes successfully, is closely related to one's capacity to lead, or one's leadership, at each of these different levels.
In this section of the resource corner you will find a range of materials on (the importance of) 'leading for change' in organisations and the wider society, ranging from evaluating the effectiveness of leadership to the concept of systemst thinking, and from the challenges facing NGOs to those related to leadership in local government. This section complements the 'leading yourself' section which provides resources on managing your own change and becoming your own best leader.
To guide you through the range of resources available, the Short Paper - Leading for Change - will highlight some key materials, which you will find in the 'quality-controlled' section of the resource corner. The paper also explores:
· The different levels of leadership (e.g. personal, organisational and societal);
· The challenges faced by elected local government representatives, and how they can respond with creative and resourceful leadership;
· Leadership development in NGOs and the challenges facing NGOs;
· Leading change in the wider society;
· The competencies and tools to support leading for change.
