'Leading to Choices' is intended to be used as a learning tool and a primer on leadership training. It is a handbook that addresses women’s empowerment and communication strategies and that aims to enable the reader or a workshop participant to identify for herself and develop the best means to communicate, listen, build consensus, create shared meaning, and foster learning partnerships at work, at home, and in her community.

The first two chapters are more general in nature and discuss foundations of a new kind of leadership - that is participatory, horizontal, democratic and, most significantly,that empowers women - as well as guidelines for facilitating leadership workshops. The other chapters cover leadership development themes ranging from strategies to enhance one’s personal leadership potential to lessons on creating and strengthening institutions through developing horizontal leadership models.
